Wow - 6 kids (and therefore 6 pregnancies and time when you were nursing) - that's a pretty good rationale. But awesome that you are determined to turn the tide.
My only public goal was I committed in late May to running the Philadelphia half-marathon in November. I referenced it in (https://medium.com/runners-life/we-only-get-so-much-time-am-i-spending-too-much-of-it-running-47e508240aa1) So it's now less than 3 weeks to race day. I had hoped I would lose most of the 20 lbs that have crept on since I used to run really regularly (about 20 years ago), but I've only lost 8 or 9 lbs. For me, focusing more on the miles I'm running and less on the pounds feels better. I've had many times when my weight plateau's or bounces back up. But I also believe you have to find what works for you.
Do you have any particular strategies or habits that you are planning to use over the next 7 months? Or is that another article?
