I think the reason most people are less transparent than you are about their ebook financials is because they aren’t feeling so great about them. They (myself included) either have lost money or haven’t made what they hoped they would.
I’m glad you told people to go for it and chase their dreams. However… when the sales don’t come, I’m not sure ‘being patient’ is the trick. I think trying something different as a way of getting your message out to readers might be better.
I also agree with your observation that your throng of Twitter followers was probably a big part of your success and Karmeish’s comment below that suggests maybe you should talk about how that happened.
