An interesting thought. I remember my grandmother rocking back and forth to get up off the squishy sofa. I'm not close to struggling to get out of a chair yet, but I was surprised that simply doing 10 repeats of this was enough to raise my pulse slightly. I'm guessing that if I grab a dumbbell and hold it while doing these that would make them even more worthwhile. Cool idea for something requiring no equipment.
